How to Clean a Room
I'm going to properly show you how to clean a room. It is very important that you know how, so you don’t cross-contaminate when cleaning.
First, put on your gloves. Then, gather up all your instruments to take to sterilization. Now I will take these to the sterile area.
Now, gather up all of your trash and throw it away. Always make sure that you do not throw away the bib clamps.
Next, take two wipes, one in each hand, and start wiping everything. After you finish wiping this side, throw these away and get two more wipes. Always make sure to clean the patient's chair last.
Last but not least, clean the patient's chair
The reason that it is important to use two wipes at all times is that you could always cross-contaminate if you're only using one. If I'm cleaning and touching this chair that I've already wiped, my dirty hand is getting back on this clean chair that I just wiped. If I use two wipes, the dirty hand is wiping while the other hand is still covered.
How to Set Up a Room
After you finish wiping your room, you'll take off your gloves and throw them away. Then, you'll get your paper, a bib, and a headrest cover. Lay one down on the doctor's side and on the tray. Take your bib and lay it here. Take your headrest cover and put it around like this. Then, get your bib clip and lay it on top of the bib.
