
Shalie Cunningham Houseknecht, BSDH, RDH
Shalie graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1997. She is currently the Hygiene Manager and has worked at James A. Burden and Associates since 2003.
Shalie has held executive board positions in our local Peninsula Dental Hygienists’ Association for 8 years. She also volunteers her dental hygiene services in community projects such as the Virginia Dental Associations Mission of Mercy and the Peninsula Christian Free Clinic.
You can find Shalie outside of work spending time with her husband Mike, and two children, Kylie and Jack. She also enjoys hiking with her two dogs and off road bicycling.
Rosemane Monestine, RDH
Rose graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2002. Prior to becoming a dental hygienist, Rose served four years of active duty in the United States Navy. During these years of service, Rose received an award from the United Nations for providing assistance as a translator in English, French, and Creole in Haiti from January through June 1995.
She is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. She is certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide.
Rose resides in Williamsburg with her husband, Rashid, daughter, Ymanee and son, Yashir. She enjoys hiking, reading and spending time with her family.
Nicole Helmick, RDH, BSDH
Nicole is one of the outstanding dental hygienists at James A. Burden, D.D.S. and Associates. She began her hygiene career after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Old Dominion University’s Dental Hygiene School in 2006. During school she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Eta honor societies.
Nicole is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association and the Peninsula Dental Hygienist Association. She served as the president of the Peninsula Dental Hygienist Association from 2007-2008.
Nicole resides in York County with her husband, Todd and daughter, Claire.
